Daniel Day Lewis is an outstanding actor and his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln did not disappoint. Sally Fields was outstanding in the role of Mary Lincoln. There wasn't a bad performance in the film and as a history major it kept my interest throughout. Most of the scenes are set indoors which usually gives me the feeling of a play but Spielberg pulled it off. Lincoln was humanized and the struggle to pass legislation has not changed.
