I know first-hand what a busy guy you are, but without a "Roundup kick" every now and again, the West is just a lonely desert. and I ain't talking peaches and cream, my good man! Tyne is a wonderfully talented actress, and I was thrilled that she was cast in Speedtrap -- I think she and Joe Don Baker had a really nice chemistry in the film. But she would have done fine without my help -- but I do get a kick out of the fact that she gained her greatest fame playing a policewoman, after playing one in my film. She was also great fun between takes -- she knows every verse to every song that Cole Porter ever wrote!Henry C. Its funny, I love the Gunsmoke half hours -- as a kid in the '60s I watched the b&w hourlongs every week, and when I discovered the half hours, running under the Marshall Dillon title, I was stunned at how tough and dark they were. Very noir, just like the radio series I would later discover. Like the shock of watching corny Dragnet with Harry Morgan, and then discovering the black & white version. But I do like the b&w Gunsmoke hours a lot, at least in part because they couldn't use the radio plots anymore, so they had to come up with something fresh.Henry C. Amazing how much character development they could pack into 20 minutes of airtime. The hour episodes were filled with too much talk and foolishness with Doc and Festus.<br />Tom B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08555044041861931878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768227493189956785.post-45414785026899574852017-07-10T07:53:44.801-07:002017-07-10T07:53:44.801-07:00I'm wondering about your comment that you take...I'm wondering about your comment that you take credit for Tyne Daly's career. In looking at IMDB, she was in over 30 different shows before 1977. Sargehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18142065502935525406noreply@blogger.com
